REAP USDA GRANTS
SPPS is excited to inform its customers that the Department of Agriculture Rural Business-Cooperative Service has announced that it is accepting applications for the Rural Energy for America Program for 2015. The Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) is designed to help agricultural producers and rural small businesses reduce energy costs and consumption. The Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvement Assistance part of the program provides grants and guaranteed loans to agricultural producers and rural small businesses to make energy efficiency improvements to their operations.
SPPS Written-Pole high efficiency single-phase electric motors are an excellent fit for these grants and loans. Our large horsepower single-phase motors provide the efficiency and cost savings associated with electric drives in locations where three-phase power is not economically available.
80 million dollars has been set aside for grants $20,000 and lower. These grants can cover 25% of the total system improvement cost including wiring and pumps. This set aside deadline is soon, April 30, 2015.
Call us and we can discuss your specific circumstances and assist you in applying for this USDA money. SPPS has been in contact with USDA representatives and we are happy to work with you to get access to these funds to improve your irrigation or grain drying operation. Give us a call and we can go over the details of the program with you.
A large farmer in the Texas Panhandle just installed a 100 HP SPPS Written-Pole Motor on an irrigation well, replacing a natural gas engine. He estimates that he will save over $650 a month just on Energy costs alone. The additional savings of oil changes and maintenance on the natural gas engine are on top of that!
